Our Veternarians
Dr. Matt Nicol
Matt graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1998. His Practice interests include Internal Medicine and diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Norreen Carrigan
Noreen grew up in Prince Rupert, BC. She first completed her Animal Health Technology Diploma, then worked in a mixed animal practice in Alberta for 2 years. She returned to school and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, SK.

Dr. Eric Buist
Eric was born in Alberta and grew up on a small mixed dairy and beef farm. After attending universities in both Edmonton and Vancouver, he completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. His first job was with a mixed animal practice in Wetaskiwin, Alberta where he began to develop his interest and experience in small animal orthopedics.
Read Full BioIn 1997, Eric and his family moved to Williams Lake, BC, where he became a partner in the Williams Lake Veterinary Hospital. Here he had the opportunity to further his interest in orthopedics and also began to pursue education in small animal ultrasound. After moving to Kamloops in 2004, he began working at Riverside Small Animal Hospital, and became partner in 2007.
His Practice interests include diagnostic imaging modalities including ultrasound and digital X-rays, with advancements in telemedicine and the potential for the incorporation of such technologies as MRI. He also still has a strong interest in orthopedic surgeries and hopes to learn and incorporate new and advanced orthopedic techniques.
Dr. Sam Nicol
Sam graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine in Edinburgh Scotland in 1995. Her Practice interests are soft tissue and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Heather Fraser
Heather was born in Kamloops and raised on a family farm in Barriere. After completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, she moved to Williams Lake where she spent nearly 3 years in a mixed animal practice. After Locoming around the province, Heather settled back in Kamloops in 2006. Her Practice interests are internal medicine and general surgery.
Dr. Dave Sedgman
Dr. Dave is a 1973 graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. In the first part of his career, he worked in mixed animal practices in Western Canada and New Zealand focusing on small animals, horses and dairy cattle. More recently he was chairman of the Thompson Rivers University Animal Health Technology program.
Read Full BioCurrently he works part time with some great colleagues at Riverside Small Animal Hospital and provides veterinary services to the BC Wildlife Park. His interests are the areas of preventative health management and geriatric medicine.
