Aimee was born and raised on the family farm in Knutsford. At a young age, Aimee was drawn to animals so the dream of becoming a veterinarian was no surprise. Aimee completed her undergraduate degree at TRU before moving to Saskatoon to complete her veterinary degree.
She graduated from Western College of Veterinary Medicine in spring of 2017 and was fortunate to be able to move back to Kamloops to start working at Riverside with her husband (Benny), two dogs (Tuff and Kip), 2 cats (Bullseye and Spur) and 3 horses (Ellie, Chyme and Ceasar). Aimee’s veterinary interests include ophthalmology and surgery, and her personal interests include riding horses and dog agility.
Caroline grew up on Gabriola island. She obtained her Veterinary Degree in 2004, from the University of Liverpool. After graduation she spent 12 years working in rural mixed practice, first in the UK, then Alberta, and finally in 100 Mile House BC.
In 2017 she joined the team at Riverside Small Animal Hospital. Her interests favour dentistry, internal medicine/endocrinology, and soft tissue surgery. Kamloops being the ‘big city’ has allowed Caroline to try new hobbies such as West Coast Swing and playing the violin.

Matt graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1998. Matt is passionate about minimizing pain during and after surgical procedures. The result of that passion is the introduction of minimally invasive surgical techniques at Riverside. Laparoscopy, Thoracoscopy and Arthroscopy are now all available.
Matt says “By using surgical telescopes through tiny incisions we can reduce surgical pain substantially. This means happier patients who feel better and get back to normal activity more quickly than they otherwise would. Who wouldn’t want that?”
His philosophy that ‘Pain is bad’ led to Riverside being one of the first Hospitals in BC to introduce Class iv laser therapy for pain relief after surgery and for a variety of other conditions.
Matt’s other practice interests include Internal Medicine and diagnostic imaging.
